Looking In
The curtain rod/ clothing rack on the left hand side is for clothing storage. In the top left hand corrner there are 3 different sized metal birdcages that are hung at different levels from the ceiling. There is a vintage fabric mannequin in the corner by the bird cages. Black curtains for the window so sunlight will not wake me. The windowsill will contain many knickknacks and mason jars filled with marbles, candles, sand from the beach and shells, old photographs, plants ect. There will be a small bed side table with an small antique clock and just enough room for my cellphone and a small ceramic dish. My bed will have no frame and just lie flat on the floor (I like to be close to the ground). There will be a photogaph of some sorts above the head of my bed yet to be decided. On the right hand wall there will be a three photo series of portraits I will have done by then. They will be edited to look like Polaroids and then mounted on a larger square black or white backdrop and framed. These photos will be done in black and white or a washed out, desaturated colour filter. On the floor I would like to have a black or white carpet. (NOTE: NOT black AND white, But, black OR white)
Above where i am going to put the framed photos is going to be this quote: "There is beauty in anger, and anger for me is passion" -Alexander McQueen
Looking Out
Looking from the other end of my room a continuation of the photographic series I will do, I will have a pair of gold antlers (small) to hang my necklaces and delicate bracelets on. I also plan to have two more small bird cages handing from the opposite corners of my ceiling. I will have a dressing table with one main mirror and two side mirrors that are able to swing open and closed. The frames of these mirrors will allow me to stick old photographs and postcards ect. in between the mirror and the frame. The dressing table will have two large drawers (for my makeup and other cosmetic related things) and a long smaller one in the middle (for my makeup brushes). On the Dressing table I will have a jewelry/music box, a antique dressing table set (hairbrush, mirror, comb) on a metal platter/dish of sorts. I will have two sets of hands, one wooden one and the palm reading one from urban outfitters with a small picture frame of a vintage photograph, this will be placed in the left hand corner of the mirror. In the right hand corner of the mirror there will be a ceramic head from Urban Outfitters (it has a map of the parts of the human brain on it) as well as an old vintage perfume bottle and another one of my actual bottles, perhaps one of Jean Paul Gautier's perfumes because I think the bodes shaped bottle will go well with the theme. In the front corner of the dressing table I would like to have a glass case with a dried or metal rose inside of it like beauty and the beast. It is one of my favorite childhood films filled with fantasy and I feel it would be a perfect touch to the room. Perhaps if i can not find one I could commission Ted Jolda to make one for me, but I should be able to find one. Also a small china teacup and saucer will always sit on my dressing table. This not only references the tea set from beauty and the beast, but also references my time spent in the UK, and the many tea parties my little sister and I would have as children. Above the Door I think I would like to have a old looking yellow/sepia tone map of the world, I am not sure whether I would want to frame it first or just pin it up there. On the right hand side of the room I would like to have a three prong hook for my purses and bags and coats and such. In the right hand corner of the room I would like an old vintage trunk, similar to the one we have down stairs for dress up but perhaps in better shape and maybe in black or white instead of dark blue. Above the trunk I would like to have a shelf for books and magazines. The trunk will store whatever other magazines, books and clothing I can not fit.
Here are some inspirational images for the decorations
I WANT ONE OR TWO LIKE THIS
(will most likely find them at an art shop. will use them for my rings and bracelets. this is a perfect setup for the two on the right, i would however like to replace the large one on the left with the ceramic palm reading one from urban outfitters)
I AM COMPLEATLY OBSESSED WITH THE IDEA OF BIRD CAGES!
(i plan to fill them with different things such as one filled with candles, one filled with dried flowers, one filled with tea stained aged letters and envelopes)
this is what i meant by hanging the bird cages at different levels in a cluster
it would be cool to get a pair of these antique bonoculars to have on my windowsill or dressing table
I WANT A MATCHING CERAMIC GUN AND PERFUME BOTTLE
(preferebly i would want the gun to be a antique looking pistol revolver sort of gun, but i would settle for a hand gun i guess) BUT THE PERFUME BOTTLE IS A MUST. (i want a sphere one though)
I NEED IT!
i will collect interesting glass bottles and put interesting little things, will deffo have a few bottles inspired by alice in wonderland that have old tags on them that say drink me!
I NEED THIS SORT OF BIRD CAGE
(though i would prefer to have it this colour of gold metal or maybe even a little bit more tarnished and old looking)
I like how this one has little ceramic food and water dishes in it. though i like the shape of this one the colour is disgusting.
this ring is awesome. i want it. thats not really important but i love it.
this is exactly what i meant by knickknacks
these are great shapes for bird cages but i wold prefer them in a gold-ish colour.
this is exactly what i want to do with one of the bird cages, i want to be able to fill them with candles, most likely the fake flickering wax candles that my little sister got for Christmas from family friends of ours. (i have to admit was jealous for a moment or two, until i got tickets to the flames vs habs hockey game in Montreal for me and my friend)
i want to also fill a bird cage that looks like this more or less with beige/white, tea stained (to make them look old) envelopes. i think i will get my friends to write me letters of their favorite memories and send them to me so i can have something with actual meaning to put in the bird cage. i will do the tea staining myself...
this is what i want to do with mason jars, put different sized candles in them. but i also think that i would like to put sand and shells and other things inside of them with the candles.
such as this, but probs not moss. i dont really care for the aesthetic of this example specifically but it is an example none the less. I WOULD SELL MY SISTER TO THE ITALIAN MOFIA FOR THESE TWO BIRD CAGES! THEY ARE THE EPITOME OF PERFECT!
I think i really like this idea. however i would rather put dried flowers in the jars instead of live, fresh ones, and maybe fill it with sand and flowers as well or something like that...
this is the style influence for the antique dressing table set. these are just a bunch of mirrors but i do want a brush and a comb to go with it.
I want an old school camera like this for my windowsill as well
I could totally live without this egg nail manicure kit thing, maybe a prettier version of it, but i like the concept and idea. i am just not crazy about this one, the copper makes it look dirty too. the colour just makes me associate it with not so nice things. i dont know why.
beauty and the beast. i think i will just add a dried out rose...
this will be the sort of plants i keep... MOSS with knickknacks in it as well...
I NEED A HEAD LIKE THIS! ITS SOOOO COOL! i will get one from urban outfitters
and this one for my rings from urban outfitters
